Both are requirements for my employment at the hospital. Hubs got both, and we asked our parents to get both, as well. I got both while pregnant, and it was my first time for both. I feel like Tdap may be more heavily promoted in certain regions, maybe those that have had a nearby outbreak? It is apparently not a big deal in some areas, and in others (like where I live), a grave importance is put on it.... You know all the exhausting background, but it has just made me feel so much better that I was able to get it. And my doctor didn't initially know that the CDC just changed the guidelines and that it's now OK for pregs. They just changed it at the very end of October, so the doctor you spoke with just may not be aware yet. I told my DR and she went to the CDC website and verified and then she was like, "Okay, let's find it for you...." The flu shot since we have LO and since I work with a high risk population. The TDAP for little one. That shot hurt so bad, I had a bruise and a knot on my arm for 3 weeks!
