Although some parts of Toronto are super liberal and accepting of diverse lifestyles, a HUGE portion of the city of very conservative. It was well known that he was/is an alcoholic during his run for Mayor, and he has been ejected from many a formal event and sports event for public drunkenness and aggression. Still, he won decisively, and despite all the scandal since he's been in office he will probably win again. </p> <p>When I lived in Toronto we had an AMAZING mayor who didn't last his term because he met so much opposition to his "radical" ideas (more bike lanes, increased public spending on fixing up housing commissions, etc).</p> <p>Toronto is definitely a city of contrasts.
