This year, we're preparing to have kids so we both know we have to really tighten the belt.</p> <p>I've been trying to monitor our grocery shopping so I can set a realistic budget. I want to limit eating out and buying things we don't need. </p> <p>I am trying to save my 1st paycheck of every month but it only works s sometimes bc of unexpected expenses (tax payments, weddings...). We decided to pad our savings account with that. Insane. I just got a $450 electric bill that brought me back to reality. Time to buckle down and change our spending habits. I feel like I spend a fair amount of time thinking about all the things I would buy if only I had more money...so I'm working on instead replacing those thoughts with naming things that I am thankful I already have and being overall thankful for the things in my life, whether they are things or people or whatever. </p>
