I have a bunch of stuff from LOFT and some of it looks great even 1-2 years later and some looks like crap after 3 washes and is pilling. I don't really know how to tell before I buy it whether it is going to be good or not. After just a few washes, my shirts look stretched out, have pills, and just generally look worn out. I wash everything in cold, gentle cycle, with free and clear detergent, and usually hang to dry instead of putting them through the dryer.</p> <p>Are clothes just cheaper quality now? Most of my stuff is from the Gap or Banana, with some Target thrown in. Or am I doing something wrong? </p>
