I just bought a case of chicken from them! It worked great - very easy, you don't even get out of the car. You just drive up, give them your name, they put a plastic bag down under the box for you and load it up and off you go.

The biggest pain is cutting up and storing the chicken. I did a lot of research on how best to freeze chicken, and wound up wrapping each piece in plastic wrap, covering the amount I wanted in one bag with aluminum foil and then storing in a Ziploc freezer bag. With DH working with me, it took about an hour to get it all done.

The chicken breasts are butterflied and very large. I wound up with about 12 ziploc bags with 3 pieces of chicken in each. We have made 2 meals and so far the chicken has been great and I will buy from them again.

I'm with you, I worry more about preservatives and additives than buying organic in a lot of things, so this appealed to me.

@coopsmama: Yea, they don't have any additives though. I feel like so much of the chicken available at the store is injected with some sort of "flavor enhancer"

I have a couple of friends who have used Zaycon and love it. For them the only downside has been having to package the fresh meat into smaller packages before freezing it.

It's all conventional meat though, so for folks who prefer organic, grassfed, non-GMO, etc. it's not a great option.

Has anyone ever ordered meats from zaycon foods? https://www.zayconfoods.com/

I guess the thing is that you can buy fresh meats in bulk at discount prices. You basically sign up for an "event", drive into a parking lot and pick it up. They're doing chicken breast events now for $1.99/lb! I see lots of positive reviews online, but I've heard that they pay for reviews, so I was just wondering if anyone has IRL experience with them.
