We had hardly anything from the actual company other than the one doll each (one for my sister, one for me) and lots of books, and anything we bought ourselves. That's crazy! Crazy awesome. I had two American girl dolls as a kid, and one of them I had to pay for myself! Even then, they were still $75 without anything extra. I know, that sounds crazy--but my husband is a HUGE thrift-saler/garage-saler and he has found some incredible deals (like an American Girl Doll with a wardrobe, bed and a whole bunch of clothes for $35!! When the outfits themselves go for $35 normally!) So we have everything in our closet, and I have what we have saved in a spreadsheet ready to give to her. Of course, if she ends up not liking the stuff we got--a total possibility--that's fine, and we'll give it to someone else or sell it/give it back to Goodwill. I bought it for J for Christmas. We're going to have a minimal Christmas in regards to gifts so the only other thing we'll get are some train track expansion packs from ikea. </p> <p>I don't usually shop early for Christmas!
