Yes! I've raised my voice (hides) and it results in a automatic crying fest. :(

He bit me while nursing (on purpose) and I yelled "Ouch! That hurts" and took him off. He started crying but he hasn't bitten again.

I've said "NO!" pretty loudly, but I'm not sure if it counts as raising my voice. My LO whined after I "no"'d at her though. :(

Yes, there are times that a calm voice just doesn't cut it... She knows when I raise my voice I mean business.

Yes, I have, which just resulted in a lot of crying and it doesn't do anybody any good. Ah, but we are all human and stuff happens sometimes.

We had a horrific morning, too :( I've raised my voice at RJ many times, and it's always had the same effect: wide eyes, bottom lip out, immediate tears. Poor thing. I'm such a mean mommy.

I don't know if it was a yell or more of a firm, "NO!" when LO has bit me before whole nursing. His eyes just got all wide.

Yes I have. More then once too :( In my defense though, he is almost 4, so I have had longer!!!!! I remember once, we were late, and he wouldn't put his boots on or something, and I raised my voice and it scared him! He jumped and looked terrified and started to cry! I felt so bad, but man, just put your boots on!!!!

I remember raising my voice when he was right around 2 and a half. He did something similar to Charlie. He dropped his toy, his eyes got wide, and he just stared back at me. Then he started crying.

I have only done it one more time since. Now I just use a stern tone of voice, because I don't want to scare him like that.

I raised my voice at Charlie today for the first time...

One of the servers that I run (for another site) was down and I was dealing with that since 6 am. Then when I called their technical service for help, I got someone who didn't know what they were doing. Finally Charlie threw a full-fledged tantrum as we were getting ready this morning. He refused to put on his pants, and we were already running late for school.

So I raised my voice at Charlie. I was so frustrated that I hissed out, "CHARLIE!!!!"

Wow, his reaction was one of pure shock. He froze and looked at me in terror. I guess I haven't raised my voice before. I'm usually pretty patient. It was just a perfect storm of a morning though.

I don't feel bad about raising my voice, because it really is a rare thing and I know that I am only human. But I will never forget the look on his face. He was in total shock! It made me determined to never do that again. Or more realistically, to greatly limit the number of time this ever happens.
