And did you have the tags on? If so, they should have taken the item and offered you whatever it was being sold for. If you explain it was a gift, generally they're pretty good about it. </p> <p> It's a hassle when they are no longer carrying the item .. then they have to search their database for the item and sometimes .. it's not even worth it for what they tell you is their current price. I once got a jacket as a gift but I didn't have the gift receipt anymore and I was super lazy so it took me a month to go return it. They told me they no longer had it in stock (probably a clearance item at the time of purchase) so they looked it up and told me they would do a voucher but the value was $2 and some change. SOOOOO not worth the hassle.
