@mrbee: Oh, I know. I told him. He tends to think I read one thing and overreact and assume it's true in all cases. Which... OK, maybe sometimes. But this is actually a pretty serious thing and he's normally all about safety stuff. I wish he would take it seriously. (I'm sure he will.)

@Coco Bee: DH mounted the tv on our wall and he is SUPER clean about the cords. Although it be better professionally an easy way to hide the cords would be buying these things http://www.legrand.us/~/media/94E4F330FBC04B5DBA19311A75FE5241.ashx?w=485&h=326&as=1

they usually come in white and you can paint over them with the color of your wall. Im sure you can tell what I am talking about?

OMG don't even get me started, I brought this up with DH and he rolled his eyes. We really need to do this, or mount it to the wall, but DH seems to think it's "too small to mount to the wall because then it will be further away." Um, like 6 inches further away. He thinks all that stuff is alarmist and not true.

@spaniellove: ooh professionally mounted? I like the sounds of that.

I need to figure out how to do it because of the cords... what do you do with all the cords when it's mounted? We don't have the option of stringing them in to the wall. We're in an apt and not allowed to make holes that big, and DS's room is behind the TV.

Flat screen TVs are falling on kids in increasing numbers!!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30686493/ns/health-childrens_health/t/falling-flat-screen-tvs-growing-threat-kids/

If you don't secure your flat screen, you could risk serious injury to your child. :( There have been a number of reports of children dying from this... oh my gosh, hard to imagine.

Our flat screen TV is downstairs, which is in area where the kids never go. If the kids ever start coming downstairs though, we'll have to secure it ASAP!

Have you secured your flat screen TV(s)?
