@Foodnerd81: I agree I think that test is probably more marketed towards people hoping for a no! I had a couple of late periods in college and I totally panicked (despite being on birth control.. I'm crazy like that!) and those three minutes were torture!!

I'm guessing those are more for people who aren't trying and are hoping for a negative? Like, someone who all of a sudden is like, oh crap, my period should have started by now, and would be in a rush to find out, you know? So they wouldn't think of it until they were late anyway, and want to know fast.
I still think it's silly because 3 minutes is really fast, but I bet they can sell it for more by playing on someone's frantic emotions.
That's my take anyway.

Yeah, that's weird! I'd much rather know earlier than know 2 minutes quicker.

I agree, I would much rather use a more sensitive test and wait an extra two minutes!

So, I was looking at the pregnancy test box that I have last night, doing some calculations in my head if it would even be accurate last night, and noticed something really odd. I accidentally picked up a "rapid response" test rather than the normal "early detection" one from first response. (I am terrible at picking up the slightly wrong thing, I don't pay enough attention to packaging!)

So the test is effective on the first day of your missed period, or after, but gives you a result in only one minute. Whereas the early detection test gives you a result in three minutes, but can detect pregnancy up to six days before AF is missed.

This does not make any sense to me. I mean, sure maybe there is a small market for people who are late and want to know ASAP. But it just seemed crazy to give up 6 days of knowing for 2 minutes faster in test results!! 3 minutes is really not that long.
