When DD was littler I would time these trips to coincide with nursing and try and avoid having to stop on the way. When ds was 3 weeks old we drove 2.5 hours to visit my family and to go to a friend's sons first birthday party. (Sidenote - my due date was her son's birthday!) It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. We left right after I nursed him and he slept the whole way. Of course by the time we got to my Mom's house he woke up and was starving. So the first thing I did was feed him. I am actually making another trip with him by myself this weekend.
