Some listings let you book instantly and others make you wait for confirmation. Usually I hear back within 24 hours. If I don't, I move on to someone else. Usually the owners respond fairly quickly but we just did a booking a month ago or so and hadn't heard anything within 24 hours so Air BnB cancelled the booking automatically, much to my disappointment. The host sent us a message a short while later apologising for her tardy response and said she'd be more than happy to have us stay, so we just submitted our booking request again and it all went through fine. What happens if they don't get back to you after 24 hours? We attempted to book a room for our trip but haven's heard back from the owners and we will be at 24 hours at noon. </p>
