@psw27: Assuming 30 diapers a week (6/day), it's $0.33/diaper. Almost twice the cost per diaper of Up&Up ($0.18/diaper)! Based on that alone, I'd keep supplying my own, for sure.

@avivoca: Our daycare in Philly cloth diapered, but we couldn't find one here in Central PA. I was so bummed.

We cloth diaper and our daycare is happy to use our cloth, but we do send a few disposables as well so we don't have to always send enough cloth to cover the odd day where he poops a million times or they go on a lengthy outing and want to pack light.

An option like this would have been nice for the NB, 1, 2 sizes that LO wasn't in long enough to use up packs big enough to be a reasonable cost per diaper.

@caterw: Yeah, I specifically looked for daycare centers that would cloth diaper. Worst case scenario, we do cloth at home and disposables at daycare.

Our former daycare used those diapers and wipes and the cost was included in my weekly rate so I just went for it. They were perfectly adequate- didn't give DD rashes or leak more than Target brand. I think $6/ week is reasonable considering store brand diapers are like $7/ pack and the wipes are included also. It would be worth the cost to me if I didn't have to remember to bring back up diapers and wipes every week for 2 kids. Also, it's awesome that your daycare supports cloth diapering!

Our daycare uses them (and charges the $10/week - not optional), which I was pretty pissed about at first but whatever, we already pay so much, what's another $40 a month. They're ok. Not as nice as Pampers and I prefer the Kirkland ones we buy for home but they get the job done.

@kiddosc: Yeah, I use Up&Up (and we cloth diapered for H's first 21 months). This is wipes, diapers, and training pants. I'm not sure what we will do, as H is mostly potty trained and only uses pull-ups for nap and nights.

I think that is the brand that our daycare uses (they have also used Luvs, and I'm not sure which one they are using right now though). They are fine. We are lucky though, we never have any issues with diaper rashes, or leaks, or anything that would depend on brand. So I'm not sure if that's at all helpful.

$10/week seems really expensive. We use huggies little snugglers and I can get a large pack that lasts us pretty much the whole month at home and daycare for $36 with amazon subscribe and save.

@Mamaof2: I think they are going to give us some to try (I saw a huge stack of them on a table), but my daughter is potty trained so we won't really be able to use them yet! Our second is going to start there in January.

This was a LONG time ago and I don't know if they have changed but when DS was 2 they started offering them at DCP (so 5 yrs ago) they gave us a few diapers and wipes to try.
I didn't like the wipes but the diapers were similar to Target and it was actually cheaper for me to buy the Target ones myself.

Ask them for a few to try!

My current daycare is beginning a diaper service for all families. The brand of disposables, wipes, and training pants they will be using is Cuties, which I've never heard of until now. I still plan on cloth diapering full-time, but I'm going to talk to them about letting me use the part-time rate ($6.00 per week) instead of the full-time rate ($10.00 per week) since I plan to provide most of my own diapers.

Have you used this brand before? If so, how did it work for your child? We exclusively use Target Up&Up diapers/pull-ups at nap/nighttime since we are potty training, but I'll have an infant starting daycare in January.
