He's gone consistently ever since. Honestly, I think it's fine but I'm also super laid back... I was in the same building the whole time and had a pager. I'm sure it all varies by location, though. At best, I usually consider gym childcare to be equivalent with a babysitter -- make sure my kid is safe and reasonably entertained while I'm working out. This Y far exceeds those expectations: keeps the &lt;16m crowd separate from the older kids, has two separate indoor play areas (one for older kids, one for younger), does crafts &amp; storytime in the morning, etc. It is a clean place, but I don't think the baby area is quite as stringent as, say, a center daycare where they put a toy in the dirty pile as soon as kid mouths it and clean all the toys nightly. </p> https://boards.hellobee.com/topic/have-you-used-your-ymcagym-childcare#post-2444156 Mon, 01 Feb 2016 00:14:10 +0000 lemondrop 2444156@https://boards.hellobee.com/ <p>Love our Y's Amazing Kids program! We use it most days of the week for an hour or two a day. Their primary teacher is one of my favorite people that my kids have ever interacted with. One was super great - even though the girls working there were young, they were awesome. </p> <p>The other one was at the Y, and DS was only there for 45 minutes the first time. He was 6 months old and he got a big goose egg on his head. They actually have changed poopy diapers before. The one negative is that they apparently let her stand on a chair and she fell off and hit her head. They waited until we came back to tell us instead of paging us right away. </p> <p>LO1 really likes going but LO2 (3 months) has not been yet. I have to give them notice if she were to go because she is under 1 but older kids just drop in. They do sanitize and clean daily. They also have sick policies, children can't be barefoot, staff won't change diapers, etc- so that all helps too.<br /> The staff is so great- my son has his favorites, and we bring him at least 3x a week. He begs to go sometimes. I work at the Y so we use it a lot, but in my experience they are all very attentive and really love being with kids. They even sometimes have games and different activities. My daughter is in daycare once a week and the place is impeccably cleaned and I do not doubt the skill or attention of her classroom teacher - gym care just seems different to me. What have your experiences been like if you utilize this feature of your gym membership? </p>
