When DH and I were still just dating they took us, which was SO amazingly generous - I think it's because they wanted DH to go with them (he's an only child) and knew he was more likely to agree if I was invited as well, haha! But that trip was amazing and I was so grateful, so it was fine! On more "normal" vacations the only part that gets stressful is sometimes feeling like we can't do our own thing and have to spend all our time with them, but we are working on being better with that. We are going on a 4 night cruise + 1 day at Disney with DH's parents, SIL &amp; husband, and their 2 kids. We see them every weekend, but I can only handle them in small doses. I can't imagine spending almost 6 full days with them! There is a big language barrier between me and his parents, so when they are together they all speak Cantonese, I just let my mind wander and think about random stuff. We're splitting all the costs between us and SIL/BIL, but it will still be pricey. *sigh* I'm glad we opted for a cruise though. There are lots of different activities and we don't ALL have to be together 24/7! </p> <p>On the other hand, we travel with my parents almost every year. It was fun and enjoyable and we truly appreciate everything they did for us but it was also miserable and annoying at the same time. I think the biggest issue was that my inlaws are on the cheap side and thought it would be a good idea for us to share a room with my sil and her husband. Umm no, two couples each married for a year should not share rooms. Plus, after spending every waking second together during the day I need my downtime and time to just chill with my husband. It wasn't as stressful as I expected, although that didn't mean we didn't get on each others nerves. My in-laws are addicted to food so every meal decision became a huge ordeal. I think my husband would agree. His parents are laid back and know how to have a good time and spend some money when something looks fun to do or good to eat. My mom and stepdad are super frugal and picky about what they eat, so that can get tricky when you're on vacation. </p>
