My current dog hasn't. She is a little stupid about that kind of stuff though. She loved to chase things but then doesn't know what to do. For example, she caught a baby bunny once and just kind of held it between her paws like, "Ok - I caught it. What do I do now?" which allowed the baby bunny to hop away unharmed (although probably traumatized).

A couple of our dogs growing up liked to bring "presents" back to us though! :)

Growing up, our dogs would occasionally kill one of the chickens if a chicken happened to escape their pen and coop. :( It was always very sad!

Thankfully, no. My lab has tried insects and worms but nothing else. She has really surprised me with her calm. We can sit at an outdoor cafe and the birds will come within a foot of her; she just watches them. One day she picked up a dead bird from the sidewalk, and I totally expected a bloody mess, but true to a soft-mouthed retriever, she brought it to me and dropped it. It wasn't bloodied. Honestly I thought she would try to eat it; that girl is all about food.

He's an indoor dog (only goes outside on a leash) but he's eaten a few flies straight out of the air before, LOL.

ETA: He would gladly go after the chipmunks/squirrels in the yard, if he had the chance.

Growing up, we had a Shiba and he had a very high prey drive. Every spring there would be a baby bunny massacre, he also managed to grab birds right out of flight, bugs, a few groundhogs and was not very dog or cat friendly. Luckily, he always came out on top and never tussled with a skunk. There were a few times my dad had to intervene.

Our current dog is a hound/lab mix you think would be good at hunting but he's so clumsy and loud that he can never catch anything, thank goodness.

My dog caught a baby bunny once, but didn't know what to do with it. (He has a very soft mouth) He just carried it around in his mouth while it screamed bloody murder. He dropped when I told him to leave it (that rarely works!) and I was sure it was dead. But my husband went out to scoop it up and it hopped away! I still think it probably died of shock once it got under our fence. Same dog brought me a dead, frozen, headless baby bird one morning. I'm choosing to believe he found it that way and didn't eat the head off...

Our dog is way too lazy and has zero prey drive haha.

But my childhood dog killed my sister's pet hamster... She put the hamster in one of those balls that rolls around on the floor and forgot about him when we went out shopping. We came home to quite the traumatic mess...we still don't know how our dog managed to open the ball...poor little hamster didn't have a chance :(

My cat is an indoor cat but when I lived at home my mum's cats were constantly hunting! And they often brought stuff in still alive, like bunnies which then would start hopping round the house, or even worse birds. Birds indoors REALLY freak me out, but luckily my sister is some sort of Dr Doolittle type and would always coax the poor creatures back outside!

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, and we had a disgusting night last night! We let our dogs in the backyard to do their business (which is fenced in) and we always have a ton of bunnies back there, but they are fast and every time before this have escaped. Well last night my girl dog caught the bunny for the first time, and pretty much killed it immediately. It was disgusting. She has white paws, and a white belly. For whatever reason she decided to then lay on it. Luckily I think the bunny was killed immediately, she shook it pretty hard, but it was just gross, she wouldn't leave it alone.

We had to bribe her to come in the house with a high reward treat, then quick give her a bath, because she had blood on her paws. Just disgusting.

Have your cats or dogs killed anything like that before??
