We're currently expecting twins & decided not to find out their genders. If we decide to have more children and we have two of one gender, we aren't opposed to choosing the gender since we would be doing IVF anyway. We would not have considered this if we were able to get pregnant naturally, though. If I had to go through IVF and I was given an option, I would definitely select a specific gender. I know someone with twin girls through IVF and they just want a son. They can't have a baby naturally (complications), so they are able to choose. So why not, if they are going to do IVF anyway? I can see certain situations where it's ideal to gender select (like, you need an heir for the royal throne? lol). IVF was covered by our insurance but PGD is out of pocket and cost something like $5,000. It also can't be used for gender selection everywhere, I believe. We just wanted a baby, boy or girl.
