aww!!

I would go with your gut... I don't think it's completely necessary. But I have heard from many parents, pre-school teachers that the anxiety last maybe a week or so? But it's up to you!!

I know I personally don't plan to start DS in any program until pre-school age if I'm still a SAHM at the time.

I have my LO (17 mos) signed up to start and MDO this week. It's all day Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-3. I also agreed to teach a class for a different age level at this MDO, so I will be in the building, just not WITH my LO all day.

Since going to an orientation meeting last week, I am having second thoughts. My LO is really happy and generally outgoing, but she is having some separation anxiety, and during the orientation, she cried nearly the entire 4 hours.

At her age, the program is not academic, so it will be mostly play, nap, music, lunch. I was thinking that the socialization would be good, and that it would be good for her to be independent, but now I'm thinking that I don't want her to be miserable all day 2 days a week for no good reason. We were going to a playgroup several times a week, so she *is* around other kids (but I am there too).

Of course since I am supposed to be teaching a class, it's not so simple to just back out. I don't think it will be very hard to find a replacement as there are apparently few qualifications to be a teacher there (I am a licensed teacher, but I believe most at the MDO are not--and this is sort of another issue I have).

What would you do if you were me?
