1. What's fwomen to me about life is how similar we are. I remember when "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" came out and every hyphenated or non - hyphenated American could relate. Life is funny (and tragic) because we don't really know what we are doing until it's done.

2. Men and women definitely have a different sense of humor. I am amazed how some men never grow out of potty humor and clumsy, physical humor. I'm sure there are women who find this stuff funny as well, but I just don't know any. Overall, I happen to like more male stand up comedians. Could that be because women are not given as many opportunities to hone their craft and create, practice, and perfect new material maybe? The Reason rated comedies made by and starring women are hilarious though.

3. To stay balanced I will remember what happens at SNL: practice, practice, and go! Imperfections and all you must live. Tomorrow (or next Saturday) is the opportunity to do it all over again and better. But, for now, today (this Saturday) it'it's good enough. I am worry wart and think of practically everything as a big deal- make it or break it- and knowing there's always a chance to recover will hopefully get me out of my own head.

4. I wasn't surprised at all by much of what she said except for not wanting to give her babysitter instructions. Her passive aggressive approach seemed like such a departure from the rest of her personality. Even when she was doling out advice that if something has to be said "you need to do X Y Z" then it's not true she was totally a bad ass taking charge of the situation.

1. I think anyones life can be be turned into a comedy, even the most boring of us have crazy tings happen every once in awhile. I think it's a great outlook on life to not take yourself too seriously, we only get one might as well enjoy it!

2. I think humor is different between men and women, but I don't believe men are always funnier than women. Right now I find the women on SNL WAY funnier than the men, and I LOVE it. MY DH agrees too, he thinks the women are killing it & the guys are just 'okay.' I think men have gotten a bigger break, it's the old sterotype.

3. I didn't really take "advice" from the book, more read it for humor.

4. I enjoyed her outlook on motherhood, particually her outlook on breastfeeding, she acknowledged that it is hard and not for everyone, I enjoyed seeing it instead of someone referring to "giving up" in such a negative sense. I have to keep myself from looking at using formula in such a negative light.

Overall I enjoyed the book, however I didn't think it was amazing. She gets a little long winded, but I liked learning about her life and the "secrets" of SNL since I'm a big fan.

Come one, Come all who have read Bosdypants...

1. Artistically and philosophically speaking, authors tend to explore life's tragedies and the ways in which ordinary individuals cope with sorrow. Yet Fey finds that real life teaches her about comedy. What, then, is funny about life—is it funny? What kind of funny? Have you ever made observations—about people and situations—that could be turned into comedy skits or one-liners?

2. Fey takes issue with various comments, by males, that women are not funny. Here is Fey's own comment on that stance:

It's an impressively arrogant move to conclude that just because you don't like something, it is empirically not good. I don't like Chinese food, but I don't write articles trying to prove that it doesn't exist.

Do you agree with her...or are men funnier than women? Is their humor different?

3. What piece of advice has Tina gave in "Bossypants" that will help you be balanced?

4. Fey spends several chapters of the book discussion motherhood? Were there any parts of her perspective that surprised you? Were there any parts that you disagreed with?

Thanks for reading & participating!
