Yes! definitely kvetchy. And what stinks is that she has started to cry when she's in the Ergo for too long... which used to keep her really happy no matter what! Booo.

@Espion: yes! R will be 5 months next week and for the past few weeks she's whined until I come over. As I pick her up that smile appears. It's nice to be wanted but mama needs a break!

For the love of God, YES. I'm up with a cranky, whiner clinger myself right now.

But the new squeals and screams are pretty cute, I will admit :)

@Ms.Badger: I felt all along his gums and felt no bumps or swellings yet. My little ball of sunshine is sleeping right now, so here's hoping that he wakes up a little happier!

@NurseMommy: Oh yes, these new vocalizations that E tries out for fun? Ear splitting! The wily guy follows with some pretty cute cooing at the dog though.

<whew!> It's not just my LO either! The WHINING, oh my goodness! I prefer crying. And sleeping has been terrible. And gastro issues seem to be coming back... And she started this super high-pitched scream that she does just for fun, which is actually pretty cute. ;) She will be six months tomorrow. Can't believe the time is flying so fast! No teething here.

@Espion: do you feel bumps on his gums? That was my first indication that teeth were on their way. I hope for both of our sakes it's teething and ends soon

@Ms.Badger: He doesn't have any yet, but I'll be watching those gums like a hawk! I want some teeth for all of this madness! :p

@Espion: Does your LO have his bottom 2 teeth? I think L is teething his top 2 because he's acting like he did about 1 week before his bottom 2 surfaced. So, it should only be another week of this, right?

He has his 6 month check-up tomorrow, so I hope his ped has some answers for me then.

@Ms.Badger: That is so weird, because E is taking a pacifier for the first time in his life! (I bought a cute longhorn wubbanub and he's never been into it until now.) He has been gnawing on everything, but his gums are the same as they've always been. The only reason I feel like it can't be teething is because as soon as I pick him back up he acts like a different baby!

So... it's not just my kid? Well, that's good at least. My LO (6 months on Tuesday) just whines non-stop and I can't handle the whining!
I am still convinced he's teething though - what else can explain his complete refusal of the pacis he's loved since birth? It would be so great if he'd just take the dang paci!
I take some solace in the fact that he's sleep OK (not like he was a 3 months, but WAY BETTER than a month ago) - so if could be worse?

Are you terrorizing your parents? Do your parents think you are teething, yet as soon as momma picks you up from daddy, you chill out? Is this the beginnings of becoming a Stage V Clinger?

Momma is tired, and she can't figure out why you are screaming so violently that you turn red and stop breathing for a sec. (Which is also scary, stop that at once, plz.) But as soon as I pick you up and walk you around, you are cooing and acting cute enough to warrant a second thought about all that coal for Christmas we previously promised you.

Is this wonder week/month a dilly, or what?
