Best wishes! I know it is scary to face a possible miscarriage. But there's really a huge range of what normal can be. Here's two hopeful things:
1) This early on, there's a BIG range for numbers AND growth rate. Things don't get more predictable until the later days of week 5. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for baby to get nestled in and growing.
2) Technically, anything over a 66% growth is a good sign. "Doubling" is just an easier, safer calculation so that's the one most talked about. Both of my OBs (sep. practices) actually do betas 3 days apart, and check for doubling at 3 days.
Have you checked out this website? http://www.betabase.info/

@schoolmama: I've posted my story a bunch, but I have 2 babies who had non-doubling betas. I truly think some bodies just process HCG differently. I absolutely agree with everyone else that you should push for a third beta if you want one, but part of me wishes that I had never gotten betas at all because they drove me sick with worry when things were actually ok.

Wishing you lots of luck!

I also don't think you're necessarily out but I would try to get another beta too. With my second things were up in the air for awhile and it was rough! I actually also didn't have doubling betas but what I did have was apparently a vanishing twin at a bit over five weeks. Good luck to you!

I would also get another beta because 2 weeks is insane to wait (I can't believe one woman would ask another woman to wait 2 weeks to see if their pregnancy is viable!) and you can do it outside of your midwives practice if you want. Before I was with my RE I went to my PCP and asked for a beta because my old OB didn't want to take my previous MCs very seriously. They did it no problem.
Can also go to a Quest Diagnostics, I believe.
Good luck and I agree that while it may be concerning for you, I don't think it means 100% you're out.

Push for at least one more beta. Truly. The real risk (although so rare!) is ectopic and better to just rule that right out... I had one and didn't push for more betas/earlier ultrasounds w my midwives and regret it.

I agree - try to get another beta. Waiting two weeks is too hard.

66% is a better benchmark even though many just default to doubling - and you got that. I think you're still in it! Can you get one more beta? That might help with anxiety.

So my Beta's were drawn on Wed at 10:00 am and my HCG was 101 and Progesterone was 17. Today, Friday at 9:00 am they were drawn again and were only 170. I'm pretty worried that they didn't double. I've experienced 2 miscarriages and really don't want to do that again. :( Hoping someone else has been through this and has some insight. My Midwife wants to wait two weeks and then just do an ultrasound. It's going to kill me to wait that long. I did take a First Response 3 days apart and the line DEFINITELY got darker. Any help or insight is appreciated
