@locavore_mama: I meant it could have changed from last year.. did you meet your deductible yet? That could be why.
Just tossing around ideas!

We had to pay 1/2 deductible prior to 25th week. For us that was 1500$. No office copays.

eta: anything else we paid for until our deductible was met, then covered 100%.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: no, I understand all plans are different. But seems kinda weird that I am paying almost 100% out of pocket for a prenatal visit.

@locavore_mama: plans are different...?

In 2011 we had to satisfy out deductible before anything would be covered at 10%. So, I paid 10% for my delivery and 10% for ally blood draws and ultrasounds. Prenatal care was covered at 100%.

This yeary prenatal & delivery is covered at 100% but we still pay 10% for bloodwork and ultrasound (after our deductible is met).

@locavore_mama: we paid a lot last time. I think each ultrasound was like $40-60 out of pocket plus a couple hundred to cover all the appojt menta. We skipped the NT because it would have been close to $100 out of pocket.

I paid $400 for my dating ultrasound, then the new year began so another $400 for a pap which was suppose to be routine, but that doesn't matter until I hit my individual deductible.

@Mae: yes, routine prenatal care! That's what I thought too. I definitely have to call my firms rep and confirm him.

Hm…. these are for prenatal visits? My insurance told me prenatal visits are free due to obamacare. I do still pay for blood work (initial tests were like $100ish) and ultrasounds ($350ish for anatomy scan and $150ish for a follow-up ultrasound to check an issue they found). But I don't pay anything for just routine prenatal visits.

I have a HDP and was billed as my appointments came along - 120 is about what I paid. You can't look at it as a copy because it isn't.

My prenatal visits with the OB will all be billed at the end. But we have been paying for all ultrasounds and blood work. For some reason the insurance has not covered all ultrasounds the same. That I do not understand. My year starts in Sept or Oct (can't remember!) so we have almost met the deductible. (I have had ultrasounds every 6 weeks or so.)

ETA we have paid almost $200 per ultrasound in some cases!

My prenatal care is all billed at the end, so everything has been free so far! It's not going to be fun getting the hospital and doctors bills at once, but this way I only have to meet my deductible once even though my visits will cross into two different years.

For those with high deductible plans. What are your office visits costing you?

I feel like something is array with my bills. I understand all plans are very different. But with my first I was also on a HDHP and never paid more than a office Co pay and maybe around $40 for u/s?

This time around my office visit was $120 and insurance only covered $3.43?!?! Wth?

My NT scan is costing me $90 out of pocket.

I'm just wondering what everyone else's experience is like right now with a HDHP during their pregnancy .

I Def plan to clear all this with my insurance rep to make sure I'm getting billed properly.
