The cafeterias, in So Cal anyway, serve milk to students in bags. It actually drives me crazy because the kids stab them with the straw then spill half the milk. For a gable-top carton, which is what refrigerated milk is packaged in, approx. 20% of the material is plastic, the rest is recyclable paperboard. And the plastic from cartons is also recyclable, but facilities need to exist in order to process it properly. </p> <p>Is the plastic from the milk bags recyclable as well?
