I'm getting over allergies turned chest cold too.

I used Flonase for the initial congestion. Then for the stuff in my chest, the OB approved robitussin and mucinex (or robitussin with guaffenisin, which has worked best!)

The 12 hour stuff wasn lasting for me, so I switched to the four hour robitussin

Breathe-rite nasal strips, a humidifier and throat lozenges. And if you are brave, a neti pot.

If it’s congestion that’s bothering you the most, highly suggest Afrin! It’s safe and within 5 mins you have zero congestion. I used it every night before bed. It’s a miracle worker.

My OB said it was fine to Tylenol cold as long as it wasn't multi-symptom. Just the classic. Zyrtec was also fine to take (tho don't think that would help with a cold much).

I was also told to take Flonase or rhinocort - nose sprays - they’re locally acting and will help pretty much any nasal/sinus symptom

My doctors office has Mucinex and Zyrtec on the safe list and they have both helped with a recent cold. Good luck!

Thanks to a person at my husbands work who had bronchitis and decided to share, we are both sick. He is nearly recovered, but mine is just getting started. My throat is sore and red, my sinuses are plugging up and sometimes my body starts to shake, which makes it difficullt to sleep. I'm 30+2 weeks along so i know i have more options, but i still want to be careful of what i take. I would call my ob, but the office is closed on sundays. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
