Thanks everyone for your feedback!

I am confused why my doctor acted like she had never heard of a pregnant woman complaining of headaches before. I definitely do stay hydrated and I don't have a problem eating consistently throughout the day.

They are not debilitating, just annoying. I do take Tylenol when they get bad (probably about 2x/week) but that doesn't seem to do anything anyway.

I would characterize headaches as very normal and common during pregnancy. I had them really bad for a few weeks with LO #1. I haven't had any yet (11w along) but I remember getting them in the second trimester, especially if I was dehydrated. My friend has been having chronic headaches and her doctor recommended coffee and tylenol.

During my last pregnancy I had a lot of headaches. In addition to making sure you are hydrated, also be sure you are eating enough. Hard in the first tri, I know, but a nourishing meal really helped many times.

I've had headaches on and off this pregnancy, and didn't even mention them to my dr since it can def be normal. I could tell that they were either sinus and/or tension headaches--I had pain behind my eyes/nose and the back of my neck--and since I had dh clean our a/c filters (I'm allergic to dust, so figured this might be triggering the sinus headaches) and added an extra pillow in bed so that there's less pressure on my neck, they've largely gone away...Not sure if it was really those changes or just being further along in my 2nd tri, but it's worth thinking about what kind of headaches you're having and if there's anything you can do to reduce triggers. Drinking enough water is also key!

I had headaches pretty frequently during both my pregnancies. Some Tylenol usually helped.

I have had them way worse this time. My doctor just said they are 100% normal and all I can do is drink some caffeine and take Tylenol.

I've had headaches on and off the last time I was pregnant, and I've been having them this pregnancy too (I'll be 19 weeks on Sunday.) My doctor isn't super concerned - she said it's pretty common, and to make sure I stay hydrated and am getting enough iron in my diet via prenatals/food. But mine definitely aren't debilitating - just annoying. If your doctor is strongly encouraging it and the headaches are interfering with your every day life, it can't hurt to see a neurologist!

I am 15 weeks today and during my first trimester, almost up to the end of week 13, I had a headache every single day. They wouldn't necessarily be all day, nor would I wake up with a headache everyday, but at the end of the day, it would be there.

I had an appointment with my OB yesterday and she is very concerned about my headaches and wants me to see the neurologist before I get too far along. She said if the headaches are persisting in the third trimester there is a chance something very serious is happening.

From what I've read, it's normal to have headaches during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. While it's uncomfortable, they're now getting a little better and I do have days where I don't have a headache at all.

My doctor did not think this was normal at all. What are your thoughts? Is this worrisome or normal?
