With DD I ended up needing knee surgery (partly my fault, partly loose joints during pregnancy). I hope I don't need anything major after this one comes along!

Ha I just had 3 fillings done actually... I blame crazy morning sickness for that, I couldn't get a toothbrush near my mouth without vomming and flossing was just a joke.

Weakened hips for me too and my hair used to be so glossy but dried out during pregnancy thanks to a wacky (pregnancy related) thyroid.

But on the plus side, pregnancy - and breastfeeding - is good for our health too, reducing the risk of some cancers.

@looch: my dentist actually told me that nursing zaps your calcium, so she gave me prescription toothpaste and I take a calcium supplement every day. Crazy things having a baby does to you!

So far, I'm pretty sure my child is the reason my hips are so creaky. If I lay on the couch longer than 15 minutes I'm stiffer than an old person when I get up!

@looch: Dude, it's true. I would like to go back in time and take the calcium supplement. every. day. like clockwork. Not sure it would have made a difference but many a day (or week? month?) passed where I didn't take my pills.

I'm starting physical therapy next week for a twisted pelvis, care of my pregnancy with E. I've already spent lots of money at the chiropractor because of it, too! BOO

I have heard an old wives' tale that you lose a tooth for each child you have, and I'm starting to believe it! Both of my kids have left me with some lasting reminders of their arrival... in the form of my health. I've had friends say the same! From my son, thyroiditis, and from my daughter, well, I'm about to get a SECOND root canal.

Anyway, they're worth it :D

What health "gift" did you get from your little one(s)?
