WOW. I am so very jealous of your premiums

We pay close to $600 a month, and DH is a government employee. I seriously thought we'd be handed health insurance on a silver platter, but that's certainly not the case.

My insurance costs are $40 a month (though I guess it will increase when I add LO) and I'll have to pay that during my unpaid leave.

Luckily, I have enough vacation and sick time available that I can space out my unpaid time. If I did have to pay OOP, I think I pay $38 every paycheck, so $76 per month?

For all the mamas who wont be getting paid during their maternity leave, did you have to leave a check to cover your contribution to your health insurance premium?
I have to send in a check to my HR department its like $180 a month... that seems so much for health insurance, especially since I'm not getting paid during my time off.
They charge us so much for health insurance at this job, its ridiculous! DH just started a new job and I cant wait to be put on his insurance as a family plan. How muh did you have to pay while on maternity leave?
