When someone goes out of their way, whether through FB message, email, or snail mail... it all hits home the same way. I guess I would see what type of person they are - are they the sentimental type, quick and efficient type, etc - and go from there. What would they most likely do if you two switched places? Lately when I've gotten handwritten thank yous it's just felt like someone checking a box on their to-do list but they have all been for birthday party/shower gifts.</p> <p>The best thank you I got recently was a facebook thank you. I'm not a public, showy person and neither is the person that thanked me so it surprised me that she wrote it and that I liked it.
