First pregnancy the heartburn was way worse. Orange juice, pizza sauce, eating too late were some of the most prominent triggers.

It hit me pretty early in both pregnancies and it did not matter if I ate plain pasta, plain oatmeal with water, cereal or something spicy. I was miserable. It was so bad that I often threw up an hour or so after going to bed. I am not a fan of taking any medicine and Pepcid was not a cure all when I did take it. I looked up natural remedies. The most palatable option was a red delicious apple. I ate an apple after most meals and always just before bed. The heartburn would magically disappear and I could eat anything I wanted. I know this seems crazy and this remedy can't work for everyone, but I highly recommend trying it. I wish I had discovered it during my first pregnancy!

It started at like 8 weeks and didn't stop until pp. It was constant and the only thing that helped was extra strength zantac twice a day.

I had really bad reflux for about a week from week 5-6. I was taking Mylanta because tuns wouldn't touch it. My doc was really conservative and wouldn't let me take anything stronger. Now I just take tums a couple times a day as needed and I'm fine. I'm still in my 2nd tri.

Early on. Anything acidic triggered it but I didn't really change what I ate because I got it all the time regardless. I drank ginger tea or ate ginger pieces for a little relief. If it's any consolation it stopped immediately after she was born.

I had it terribly in my first pregnancy starting around 20 weeks. It came with anything acidic like tomato sauce, coffee, citrus etc. and at night every night. Nothing seemed to help besides prescription acid blockers. But a warning: acid blockers don't allow your body to absorb iron and I ended up severely anemic.

it started second trimester, i'm not exactly sure when. it gets worse throughout the day, usually flares up right after i eat, so i have to eat smaller meals and that helps a little. i eat a lot of tums and have one pepcid after dinner so that the heartburn doesn't wake me up at night. i also try not to eat a really big dinner and try not to drink too much water before bed.

I've had a lot of luck controlling my heartburn by eating very small meals throughout the day, about every two hours, and by sleeping on an incline, propped up with my pillows. I do still get it but so far I can manage with tums. Sometimes in the night I'll accidentally roll out of my incline and lay flat and then I'll wake up with killer heartburn. Some triggers I noticed for me have been bread, sugar and tomatoes so I try to avoid those now.

Yep....got it with both pregnancies around the end of the 1st tri til the end. Usually triggered by acidic food/drinks...orange juice, coke, lemons...etc. I'm sipping on ginger in hot water right now to calm it down. Its so horrible.

With DS I had it from probably 16 weeks until the end. I was throwing up all the time from the acid that would creep up. I wasn't taking enough OTC Zantac. Dd I had heartburn but minimally compared to the first child.

I'd never had it prior to being pregnant. But while pregnant I usually get it mid-second trimester. It's worst in the evenings after I've eaten carbs. I live on tums by the end of my pregnancy.

I had horrible, horrible heartburn. It started in the beginning of my third trimester and I had it until I gave birth, then it turned off like a switch! The only thing that worked was a prescription. I had it constantly - even when I hadn't eaten anything!

I don't remember when exactly, but mine started pretty early! First it was just when I ate something spicy or acidic, and then as I got bigger it didn't matter what I ate, I got it all the time. Eating a lot close to bed time was the worst! Pepcid made it a little more tolerable. Birth made it go away!

Mine started in the second trimester - it didn't matter what I ate; every day I would start off feeling fine and gradually as the day went on (so basically, the more I put in my stomach) the heartburn would get worse and worse.
