@Modern Daisy: when we first launched the site in September 2011, you needed an invite to be able to see the site!
http://www.hellobee.com/2011/09/20/welcome-to-hellobee/

But a few months later (in November 2011), we removed that restriction:
http://www.hellobee.com/2011/11/18/hellobee-is-public-today/

This boards thread was written on the same day that we opened up the site and let people view the site without being a member. Hope that clears things up!!

I am also confused about what you mean when you say "Open up" the site.. I thought it's been open? When I joined I didn't need an invite or anything, i just signed up. Am I missing something?

You said above that you would sticky this periodically to help new bees, but I haven't seen it since I started. I got in some trouble for self-promotion because I didn't know better. Maybe stickying it soon would be nice, for the others in my position?

I don't care about my blog....although I'll totally take you up on the link offer. But as an admittedly slightly irrationally thinking new-mom-to-two, I did take it pretty hard that my birth story, one of two things that I am most proud of in the entire world, got taken down. I feel like a megalomaniac if I post the whole story here...and yet...I think I'll go do that ;)

Maybe instead of deleting all the links to birth stories, you could contact the people who linked to them and ask them to post the full stories on the board instead of the links to their blogs. This way they don't get deleted without knowing about it first.

Since you just took down the link to my birth story (which I promise wasn't there because I was hoping to up counts on my blog but rather because I was too damn tired to do anything but put a link up last night)...you should probably get rid of all of the links on the birth story thread as well: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/did-you-blog-your-birth-story ... which (shockingly) was also started by me ;)

I think this makes sense, and the fact that you are offering monthly link threads is a great solution because for those that don't abuse it's nice to follow new people whether its via blog, twitter, pinterest etc.

What about if people want threads deleted, because they opted for something a little too ranty or personal. I know on Weddingbee its not something that is permitted (to delete) but I feel babies, parenting and TTC ing is a little more personal then weddings per say.

You don't need to answer the question now, just thought I would mention it. ;)
