@skibobrown: ha this is precisely why I am considering day care even part time. They can worry about it lol

We had a non-napper too. She is impossible to get down, and once we actually do get her down, she never naps more than 30 minutes. I've just decided there's nothing I can do about it, and I just roll with it. She also sleeps fine at night, so I just make sure to get my sleep at night. It's actually pretty great on the days that DD is at daycare, b/c then they have to deal with the nap issues. DD is lovely other than the napping issue, so I'm not too worried about it... although I still do hope she will grow out of it at some point!

I agree. I feel like we finally got to a good point and now we're regressing. Poor little things just don't know what to do and we don't know what's wrong for sure or how to fix it :(

Why are naps SO much harder then night time?!?! :( I wish I had better advice. Pretty sure J is starting to teethe (poopies/extra drool/fussier than normal) and it's messing with his sleep. He napped 20 min today. TWENTY. Ugh. He was SO tired this evening but I had to rock him to sleep...I never have to rock him at bed time anymore, he's just so overtired. I wish I had a nap suggestion! I'm just here to offer some sympathy!! :(

Oh gosh. Naps are enough to send me to the loony bin. My LO didn't nap in the beginning (not a sleepy newborn), started napping like a champ around 10 weeks, started exactly what you're describing at 4-5 months, got back to napping well at 6 months, and now is back to only going down after nursing/rocking. But at least she's staying down now. All I can say is that it will probably get better, but I don't know when...

I am going crazy. DD is a horrible napper and we have the worst time going to sleep. She is 7 months old. She mostly needs a bottle (trying to cut that out) and to be held/rocked. She will be fast asleep and the second I put her down, she wakes up and gets this huge burst of energy (smiling, kicking her legs fast). Or of she does stay asleep, she wakes up two minutes later and we repeat the whole thing.

I know she is exhausted because of her timing and sleep cues.
We have tried CIO and it just doesn't work. At night she is hard to put down but sleeps 12 hours straight.

I feel like I'm going crazy. I am a SAHM and I've really had second thoughts about going back to work just because of her naps. I don't enjoy it when it's like this. Just venting makes me feel better but I'd love suggestions.
