Ask them to make it oven ready, in a foil baking pan.</p> <p>You need a meat thermometer and from them on it is just math. Just kinda gross since you're handling a whole raw bird. I've used simple recipes from allrecipes that just have you throw some apples/carrots/ etc inside the body cavity, some herbs in the water under the roasting rack, and putting butter under the skin (that is a REALLY gross part). But the first time I did a turkey, it was so easy that I did one again for Christmas less than a month later! Very simple way to prepare a lot of meat at once.
