We went to visit my parents a couple weeks ago, and DH and I ended up just giving the room to DS (14 months) and sleeping on the couch. One night he was up for 3 hours before we finally got him back down, but as soon as we moved out of the room, he was STTN again. I think we were waking him up!

Sounds like you are doing everything you can. I've just resigned myself that the first night somewhere different, LO will sleep like garbage.

My LO often had problems sleeping in unfamiliar places when he was younger. We did everything you were doing and kept the bedtime routine as much as possible. Hopefully she'll get used to it in a day or two.

I do everything you're doing. Your LO is probably just wound up and having a harder time going down. Sorry it's been rough - hopefully it will get better tomorrow.

I've had a few moms tell me it takes 2 nights before their children will settle on vacation. You might just have to rough it for a bit. Hope it gets better!

It spends like you are doing everything right. Sometimes though I have just thrown it all out the window and just let her crash when she wants to crash and let her sleep with me.

LO and i are on vacation visiting my parennts without DH. She is 18 mos and still rocks down at night, which works fine at home. But we are having a really rough time with sleep--wzking u crying a short time after going down lots of interruptions etc. Ittookme 3 hours essesntially to get her down for good last night.

I have tried to make thhe trasition easier for her by:
-having familiar things like paci, lovey, blanket
-using a fan like at home
-maintaining as much of our routine as i can

What else can i do? Tonight is already off to a rough start and i dont know how i will survive tis for another weekk until we go home if itdoest change.

Thanks for letting me vent!
