Part of your issue with making a seat is the footed sleepers. They are super comfy and warm, but they make it hard for a baby's legs to be in the proper "M" position you want when you are wearing them.

You want the rings at corsage position on your chest, so right above where your breast is, down off your neck. For head support you can place a rolled up burp cloth or small blanket folded over in the top rail if you want. Many people find that comfy in the early days. Your second picture looks much better. You want the slack pulled out of the fabric along the whole length so there is even support.

That looks good! At his age, we were still doing a froggy type post with legs in.

@rattles: thank you!!

@catomd00: how do I make the seat deeper? I feel like I try and pull the bottom under him but can't grab much and if I do it just bunches under his butt which doesn't seem right. I feel like I could really only get a seat with a flexible fabric. not linen, but I know that's not right..

Looks good as far as baby and rings positioning, I'd try and pull it over your shoulder more - looks uncomfortable on your neck! Oh and looks like he could use a deeper seat!

@buttermilk: lift the baby by the bum and pull the fabric over your shoulder at the same time. It takes a little practice but will become second nature.

@PawPrints: @oliviaoblivia: I have similar issues with my ring sling. The rings always end up near my neck but the it seems impossible to get them back over my shoulder with baby already in. Any tips?

So sweet! I was also going to suggest spreading the fabric over your shoulder away from your neck to improve your comfort.

No advice, I was never a pro at the ring sling, but this really makes me miss wearing a tiny baby!

Looks good to me! To tighten, it usually helps me to put one hand under baby's bottom and lift them up a bit, and tighten with the other hand.

What a sweet little guy you have!

Just a couple tips..
If you pull the sling over your shoulder and away from your neck you'll be much more comfortable.
You could try to get his seat a bit deeper. I like to imagine putting the baby into a ring sling like putting your boobs in a bra....bend a bit at the waist and make a seat and then straighten up to adjust. Does that make sense?
Your mid rails could tighten up too, that'll help keep him straight and not slumped to the side.

Keep at it!

just got a ring sling for lo2 and no idea if I'm doing this right. he's super comfortable but it's very hard to tighten while baby is in the sling. also am worried my seat isn't big enough and he will fall out.
