I used to get nice solid pretty crosshairs, but last month they were dotted and I wasn't certain they were accurate. My temp rise has gotten less and less dramatic and I've gotten more LP spotting, so it seemed like my progesterone was dropping off. It was weird.

I think I will wait. Thank you. I think I just needed one other person to tell me that made sense.

I've only completed 1 month on progesterone, but during that month it didn't really affect my temps (i.e., give me higher temps).

Even with your low P, did FF give you crosshairs the other months you have temped? I think I would skip the next dose until it's confirmed. You definitely don't want to take progesterone before ovulation otherwise you could end up preventing it. When my ob/gyn prescribed me progesterone, I was 7 dpo and she told me that it was still ok for me to start later. Because you don't want to accidentally prevent ovulation, I think later is better than earlier! I hope your temps keep going up and that you get crosshairs soon!

I think some doctors just don't think progesterone does anything? Which I find odd since so many people seem to claim it's helped them.

I do temp. but I figured out I have low P because my temps were wonky, so I didn't want to pay too much attention to them. Maybe I should? Normally I get two + OPKs, then I can feel ovulation (which I thought I felt Sunday) then about 3 days later would get cross hairs to confirm O. But the doctor said to start at 2 dpo and I was pretty sure...so...

Meh. can two more days make that much of a difference? I think I'm leaning toward not taking it again until it's confirmed just in case I had a late surge.

Conveniently I have about a week's worth leftover from my pregnancy so I don't feel like I "wasted" last night's. I just wish I knew what was going on in there!

Did you also temp this cycle? I've heard that you can have 2 LH surges, so I usually wait until FF confirms ovulation after 3 high temps.

My OPK usually goes + 2-3 days before I get a Peak reading on my CBFM. I forgot that I wanted to test my OPK again when my CBFM peaked to see if it would go + again for a second surge. I'll try to remember next cycle!

This is my 2nd cycle on progesterone. I'm taking 200 mg orally, so I was surprised he didn't suggest increasing the dose or changing it to vaginal (which honestly I wouldn't be excited about though lol). We're starting all over and will be doing day 3 labs and ultrasound and day 15 HSG next cycle.

Is this the first time you're trying it? That's odd that he'd pull the plug so quickly!

I'm ok but confused. I took a pill last night, but then got a positive OPK this morning so am trying to decide if I keep taking it (had my first positive OPK saturday, followed by three negatives) or if I wait it out in case I'm actually ovulating now. No clue what's going on with my body!

awww @Marym! Thanks for thinking of me! That is possible... I do sleep instantly while on progesterone!

My temp did go back up to 98 this morning, but I woke up at 2 am to go to the bathroom and felt like I didn't completely fall back asleep between then and 6 am when I normally temp. Hopefully tomorrow will be another high temp though.

We went to a fertility specialist today and I told him I was still spotting 75% of the month (there is only 1 week after ovulation that I don't spot within a cycle) with oral progesterone and he told me to stop taking it. He didn't even ask what dose or route I was on. He just said that if it's not helping then to stop taking it, so I may stop today even though I am 8 dpo. I was kind of bummed... I was hoping progesterone would be our answer... :bummed: How are things going for you?

Something I thought of last night as I was reading up before taking progesterone myself... They suggest you take it at night usually because it can cause you to be sleepier. Maybe it's possible you're sleeping more deeply than usual and that's why your temps went down?

I hope they're coming back up!

@sslm awwww! thanks for looking all the way back to 2012 for your chart! haha

What a pretty chart! I hope that I'll have good news tomorrow and that my temps go back up. So weird how it has plummeted this cycle.

For me the cold and mouth breathing went hand in hand. If I'm stuffy, I'm going to open my mouth to breath better.

Thanks for the input @MaryM! I figured it wasn't mouth breathing since it has never happened in the 5 months I have been charting, but that is interesting that a cold made your temps plummet. I figured it would be the opposite! That is good to know. My throat did feel dry on 1-3dpo and my temp did plummet on 3 dpo, went back up on 4 dpo, and then nose dived again for 5-6 dpo. Although I feel that my dry throat has improved, maybe something is brewing still and the high temp on 4 dpo was the fluke.

It's hard playing the waiting game to see what tomorrow brings! I hope it goes back up. We also have an appt with a RE tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous, but hope it will be a good thing.

The only thing I could think it could be (without knowing what tomorrow brings), have you had a cold? Have you been mouth breathing? that has caused mine to plummet before.

Thanks for replying! What was your implantation dip like? Was it this dramatic or early?

I wore extra layers to bed last night, but the weather has started to get colder lately. You are right though, I'll have to see what happens over the next few days. I hope it is not AF or anything bad. :bummed:

Really only the next day or two could tell us if this is AF or maybe even an implantation dip. Were you cold last night? Unfortunately there are so many things only time will tell us :( I did have an implantation dip with this pregnancy, so maybe you did too!

Hi everyone! I was wondering if I could get some input on whether anyone else has experienced this.

I usually don't have such dramatic dips in my LP. Usually when AF is coming, my temps gradually start decreasing around 12 dpo. It's never dipped so low let alone gone below the coverline mid-LP. I also had CM yesterday at 5 dpo that had a slight tinge of brown (normal for me to start this around 6 dpo as it turns into brown spotting around 8 dpo)

Usually my LP is 14 days, so it is quite early for me to get AF. Do you think AF is on her way or know what this could be?

also, I am on progesterone 200 mg orally starting 3 dpo
