My four year old does this, he constantly has his finger up his nose despite the fact he knows he gets bloody noses. It tends to be worse when the air is dry, such as when we have our AC on for days on end. It helps when we aquafor inside his nostrils to help keep the membranes hydrated so they arent so susceptible to bleeding. I also keep track of the nose bleeds, generally he will have a few a could days in a row and then go a month or two without.

DD is 2 y 4 mo. She sucks on her middle two fingers and seems to always have her pinky up her nose- she does this to soothe herself or when she's tired. Lately every morning there is dried blood under her nose- two times it has been really bad- once in the car and once while sleeping. Has anyone else dealt with a child who picked their nose so hard it bled? Is this bad/dangerous? I'm going to call her ped too. Any ideas on how to stop this? Her picking her nose has kind of become her lovey in addition to the finger sucking and her bunny. DH is really worried and asked me to come to the hive about it.
