Just an update - DD is now fine with the bath. We spent a few days doing showers, or wipe downs with a washcloth, or just skipping bath altogether. One night I really talked up the bath while we were doing dinner, playing, etc. She was actually excited about it. I delayed washing her hair a few days, and now when I do I take a washcloth and gently get her hair wet and wash it. It seems to be working so far!

This is exactly what's happening to our DD too! She just turned two and over a week ago she did this. She used to love bath times then one day she just didn't want anything to do with it. We've since been able to get her to sit in it but after a minute she declares she wants out and we have to get her out stat or its meltdown city. Other bees commented that it happened to them as well around 2 and they will outgrow it.

Thanks @Mrs. Confetti - I took her in the shower w me tonight and she did well in there bc we have a hand held shower head. I hope bath time comes back soon though because it was one of my favorite times of the day! And I don't want to have to take a shower every night :-/

No advice just sympathy @BeachMama: C is 20.5 months and going through the exact same thing, nearly to a tee. I had attributed it to a pooping in the tub debacle but that isn't necessarily the case. Maybe this is ann age where they start to understand fears (at least I have heard that before) so maybe there is something "scary" that we as parents aren't seeing. I dunno....

Up til about a week ago DD (21 months) used to LOVE bath time. She could spend forever in the bath. She's always hated having her hair washed but if I got it done quickly we could get it over with and enjoy the rest of bath. Now, though she is completely terrified. Tonight she kicked and screamed when we tried to put her in, then just stood in the bath screaming while we quickly wiped her down. I'd tried explaining to her that we weren't washing her hair tonight but it did no good.

Has this happened to you and what did you do to help LO get over it? I'm thinking of trying to get in the bath with her next time. Or maybe just not pushing it and wiping her down at the sink for a while until her fear subsides.
