Thank you ladies!!! I encouraged her to get second opinion and start supplements now. It can't hurt and only help so why not. Also, the progesterone check was with her first beta and they haven't rechecked but said they were concerned with the number?

It seems weird to me, so i think she will see someone else

Absolutely supplement. If hcg is doubling then it's likely a viable pregnancy. I'd be switching doctors if they said no.

Mine was low too and I started prometrium around 6 weeks. My progesterone doubled after a week on the pills. I'm now 36 weeks and also took the pills for my first pregnancy. I had to push to even get tested this time but was glad I did.

My experience is not identical, because I didn't have multiple betas done, but when I had betas at around 7w, the HCG number was where it should be, but the progesterone was only a 5, and the baby was measuring 5 days behind. I did use progesterone supplements, but it didn't matter and that pregnancy ended in a m/c (HCG went up only incrementally at my next beta, although progesterone was better, due to the supplements). My OB generally believes that low P is due to a non viable pregnancy, not the other way around.

I don't see why it would be too late to supplement (I'm also not a doctor). My progesterone ran low and wasn't found until closer to 8 weeks at my first appt. I was put on supplements. I was also instructed to call and request bloodwork and a prescription as soon as I had my positive test with my next pregnancy.

I think they like progesterone over 10 or 12. Would it already be too late for a supplement?

My friend has been TTC for 1.5 years for her second. She just got a bfp about 10 days ago!

Beta 1 - 273
Beta 2 - 4 days later 1735
Beta 3 - 2 days later 3470

Her progesterone is a 5.0.

She had an ultrasound and measured 5w 2d. Her doctor basically told her there is a 50% chance she will miscarry but didn't recommend progesterone supplements. Is that normal? Is it too late for progesterone? Should she get a second opinion?
