I used to keep a fan next to our changing table to get DD 100% dry before diapering her. I second getting your LO checked for a yeast infection, bc nothing will help that except for medication (in my experience anyway).

@BeachMama: have you tried triple paste? we cloth diaper but when he got a rash when we moved, that + disposables (baby naty naturecare brand from amazon) + blowdrying his butt in between changes was the only thing that helped. Coconut oil is nice for moisture but it doesn't make a difference, neither did CJs, Earth Angel Mama Baby, Boudreaux natural paste, or desitin.

@boiledpnut - do you just put the coconut oil directly on LOs bottom?

Thanks guys. We've been doing the baking soda baths and trying to have diaper free time (she peed all over me the other day!) And we've switched diaper brands a few times - Pampers, Honest Co, and Huggies. I think I may call her ped because it's literally been going on for a month or so now. At least she doesn't seem to uncomfortable with it.

It might be a yeast rash - this is what our pediatrician told us to do when M had one:

Lotions:
3x's a day: use lotramin
All other changes: triple paste or Butt Paste

Soaking:
3x's a day soak their privates in a sink with 1/4 c. of baking soda and warm water enough to submerge the area covered by the diapers.

Airing out:
as much diaper free time as possible

She told me that there should be an improvement in 3 days and totally clear by day 7 otherwise they'd want to see him.

Also, you may want to switch diaper brands, if you haven't already.

Triple paste at every diaper change seems to be the only way to keep my LO from getting a rash.

LO seems to get diaper rash pretty easily. Usually it clears up in a few days. But she's had a nasty rash for the past month or so that just isn't clearing up. We've been doing diaper free time, making sure she's really dry before diapering, and using Lotrimin and Desitin or Butt Paste. Does anyone have some magic recipe that I'm missing that will help clear it up??
