@MaryM: I have rectangle one like that that I used to use for cramps. I could put that on my forehead which would make more sense. I like breathing through the hot cloth too but it cools so fast (since I'm essentially blowing on it I guess...)

Thanks for all the advice. Going to try everything when it comes back.

Besides a neti pot and rest, what helped me were these pressure points:

http://www.sinuspressurepoints.com/pressure-point-locations/facial-pressure-points

It's not like taking Advil and it's not a replacement for resting but it really helped me when I didn't want to be taking Tylenol several times per week.

You can find it at Target and drugstore by the allergy meds. I think Sinus Buster is in the same spot. For me Sinus Buster works FAST, but NasalCrom takes a few days.

I used a combination of putting feet in hot water with a cold pack on the neck. I also heard peppermint oil is supposed to help but the hot water/cold pack worked for me so I never tried the oil.

@clover: @Mrs. Coral: where do you get nasalcromb? I've never heard of that.

Update- headache is a little better this morning (it helps that c has sttn the last two nights, after waking up for a few hours the nights before). But it's been getting worse in the afternoons anyway. Going to try and get some of these remedies today. The hot cloth felt good for the few minutes it was in but no lasting change. :(

I second @clover: with the NasalCrom, which is incredibly safe and great for allergies during pregnancy too.

When I was pregnant I used this..

http://www.origins.com/product/3821/11719/Bath-Body-Hair/Daily-Essentials/Sensory-Therapy/Peace-of-Mind/On-the-spot-relief/index.tmpl

The peppermint oil in it is what really helps.. now I use essential oils a lot so I use straight peppermint for headaches. But I would only put a brand of essential oil on that I trusted, there are a lot that say "pure" and they aren't and wouldn't want to be putting that on my skin.

Sipping green tea? Sometimes the steam feels really good to inhale. If you have a humidifier or vaporizer, they might be worth a try to. Last suggestion is to watch or read something that makes you cry. Sometimes forcing my nose run helps relieve the pressure and helps relax the headache too.

I've done peppermint oil on the back of my neck. It works better before the headache gets super bad.

I have a rice pack made for sinuses (it's shsped like a sleep mask and has an elastic bad so you can "wear" it while laying down), the heat and pressure do wonders. Just don't put a hot pack on your eyes (I push it up higher on my forehead when hot, only use it on my eyes if it's frozen)

I used tiger balm/aromatherapy, When my sinus' are bad I use tiger balm on temples, forehead and around my nose. Helps a ton. Otherwise I used a herbal mix ointment in the same places.

I used Sinus Buster...it's a nasal spray with capsacin (same as hot peppers). Not only did it clear out my sinuses, but my headaches too. Other ideas are Head On or peppermint oil.

Good luck! I had a sinus infection for 10 weeks while pregnant...I feel your pain!

I have had a headache on and off since Sunday. It's awful. I've had a little bit of luck with Tylenol but don't really want to be taking it so much. Taking it with a bit of caffeine again helps a little, but only enough to take the edge off. Neti pot hasn't helped. I've pack on the back of my next hasn't helped. I think I'm drinking enough water though am still making an effort to drink more.

I'm pretty sure it's sinuses- I've always gotten bad sinus headaches but Advil and sudafed plus laying in a dark room usually did the trick.

Please help. What else can I do or take? In going to try the midwife tomorrow as well but if anyone has some remedies I would really appreciate it!
