We setup our Foscam FI8910W Wireless N IP Camera this afternoon, and promtly encountered the audio issues that several of you have posted about already. Through a little bit of digging I got everything setup to work as advertised. Please note that this was done on the latest version of the Firefox browser, and the steps seem quite similar for Safari users (see <a href="http://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation:Play_HowTo/Advanced_Use_of_VLC#The_Mozilla_plugin">VLC wiki on Plugins</a> for more). I generally avoid IE, so I can't help much if that's your browser of choice. </p> <p>Anyway, as many of you already know, you need to start by going to <a href="http://www.videolan.org/">http://www.videolan.org</a> to download the VLC media player. Save the file to a location you can easily access, close all Firefox browsers, then go run the file. During the setup, you'll have a chance to choose the components you want to install...<strong>make sure that the box next to the <em>Mozilla Plugin</em> is checked</strong>. With that critical selection made, complete the install normally. When you launch Firefox again, the VLC Web Plugin 2.0.2.0 should be in your list of Add-Ons. Check the Add-On Manager in Firefox to ensure that this plugin is enabled, and, once confirmed, try opening the IP Camera Web UI. If you're still having trouble, check the <a href="http://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation:Play_HowTo/Advanced_Use_of_VLC#The_Mozilla_plugin">wiki</a> to see if anything stands out. I know you can get audio if you buy the foscam camera app, but I just got the free CamViewer app that doesn't allow audio.<br /> We supplement audio with a graco vibe audio monitor. I know it seems silly to essentially have two monitors, but I don't need to see him at ALL times, I just check in - and I never have the app open at all times (it would drain the battery too). He said he didn't see the free option at dyndns (which we used to use) any more, but that you would need to pay for some sort of web address. You can do it through dydns or any other web hosting service. I thought I had somewhat figured out the whole port forwarding thing (not really), then like the instruction manual says I went to dyndns.com to set up a "free domain service' - well, turns out it's not free anymore. what the heck! it says 20/year, or a free trial.</p> <p>am I doing something wrong? should I call Foscam next week?
