@wrkbrk: Ugh, I'm sorry - I totally feel your pain. At this point, I'm rolling over every hour, and its a huge feat to accomplish. Chiropractic didn't work for me last time, and this pregnancy, I've been doing some prenatal yoga. The stretches to open up your hips seem to really be helping with some of the pain - but ultimately, I haven't found anything that truly helps with night time sleep.
Hope you find something that at least gets you THROUGH the next few months! (Or that it goes away soon!)

@wrkbrk: I'd have to ask DH. The first time.e I just got 2 from Target. Somehow that was cheaper than one thick one. This one we ha e now he got me as a gift once we found out we were pregnant again because after 2 years of use the first set had begun to lose its... foaminess. I am IN LOVE with this new one though.

@wrkbrk: bummer. Ours technically does too but we added 4 inches of memory foam to help my hips because it was getting too painful to sleep and walking, as a result was painful too. Just point out your are the one pregnant! Lol

I had a lot of hip pain (and pelvic pain) during pregnancy, and ended up having to sleep fairly upright near the end of the pregnancy and on and off throughout because of it. What helped the most was chiro and PT. I went to PT 2-3x a week and that deep tissue massage they did helped SO MUCH.

I bought the belly band and it helps slightly (though it wont stay in place when I am sleeping!) and I tried doing some cardio and walking during the day but ...

I still wake up every 30 minutes or so all night long to turn over. The hip I am sleeping on hurts a LOT. All night long. 16 more weeks. Ugh .............

I had terrible butt/lower back pain and hip pain when I slept. I found switching sides often helped. I told my midwife I was barely sleeping from the hip pain and insomnia, she convinced me to take Tylenol and a sleep aid. I was hesitant but it really helped me get the rest I needed and sleep through the night ( minus pee breaks cause nothing can get rid of that)

I had excruciating hip pain for about a month in the 2nd tri and it's was by far the hardest part of my pregnancy (including a med-free birth). Here's what I reco:

1. Chiro (like other have said). Make sure they have experience working with pregnant women.
2. Learn the proper way to get out of bed, the car, up from a chair/couch. I was doing it wrong and making it worse all day long! My chiro gave me demos but you can also Google.
3. Pre-natal yoga. I was overdoing it with regular yoga which got my body out of alignment. PN yoga helped to give me a gentle activity to keep my body moving and strong.

A couple of things helped: my prenatal yoga instructor recommended stretches and exercises, as well as to use yoga-tune up balls to massage the buttock and hip. Basically, lean against the wall with the ball bw you and the wall, and massage it in. Having your muscles relaxed will prevent hip pain that night. A squash ball will do in a pinch. I also had DH massage my bad hip most evenings for the last couple of months. Except for having to pee every couple of hours, it enabled me to get a semi-decent night's rest.

@wrkbrk: I used this one It's You Babe Mini Cradle, Small (136-180 Pounds) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I615Q4/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_clzRvbFAZSJ96

But I know a lot of people really like this one as well Gabrialla Elastic Maternity Support Belt (Medium Support), Size Medium, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ZKE4AM/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_UlzRvbKP043

I have chronic hip pain that gets really bad during pregnancy. I could barely walk by 20 plus weeks. I can definitely notice the difference between when I'm wearing the support belt and not. But I will say in the last few weeks even with the belt the pain was pretty miserable. :/

@wrkbrk: I'm right with you on this one. almost 22 weeks, but I've gotten hip pain from very early on (around 10ish weeks). even with a soft mattress protector and cushy pillow between my knees, by 5 am my hips are in agony. Heat pack sometimes works, and if it gets really realllly bad I might take a paracetamol. sucks!!!

If it's your top hip I'd try adding more pillows between your legs, and if it's the bottom hip I'd add a mattress topper. I also found it helpful to place my top leg on top of several pillows and straighten my bottom leg. Also, I found hugging a pillow to be helpful because you can angle slightly forward. And it helps if your ankles aren't touching because if your ankles are touching that will still pull your top hip down.

I've been having terrible hip pain and really placing almost all the pillows in the house under and around my legs has helped a lot. Plus I notice i have a lot more pain on days I slack off on walking. Good luck! :)
