DH would definitely approve of a trike of some sort (he works in the bicycle industry). Love it. But now that they are climbers, its becoming a step, which isn't so great. </p> <p>They do still like their activity cube at 12 mo but not as much as a few months ago. </p> <p>We have a little plastic play kitchen outside (goodwill for $2) and a big wooden one inside. They really like them both.</p> <p>Got them a cozy coupe for bday and they are obsessed with it. It's actually not as big as I thought and was only $35. </p> <p>They also love their kiddie pool filled with ball pit balls. Climb in and out, throw the balls, etc. </p> <p>Are getting more into their uncle goose blocks lately, but best when I build towers with them. But I like that they are good quality with longevity.</p> <p>We also got a set of megablocks from goodwill for a few bucks and they like them too. Mostly to eat and take apart, bang, etc. But a good one that they will grow into.</p> <p>We have a tent outside that we have sleeping bags, some pillows, and some toys, balls, etc. It's their favorite place right now. For around $50, you might be able to get a zoo membership, or at least have a really fun family day there. Or a local museum or swimming pool. He has a ride-on toy that he ignores, and a shape sorter block set--the blocks either get chewed on or banged together--which is fine!</p> <p>We're in a very small space right, so it can't be anything big (although we have a decent-sized deck), and we're on a tight budget for the next month or two, so I'm trying to keep it &lt;$50. </p> <p>He likes music/lights, likes banging things together, and has a recent love of bouncy balls. </p> <p>Any ideas??? What did you get/are planning to get your LO for their first birthday? I need some ideeeas!</p> <p>(I'm also going to get him a book and some clothes, I'm looking specifically for a toy.) </p>
