@Mrs. Pinata: during my medicated/IUI cycles, I did not test daily with OPKs due to the trigger. In my medicated cycles break, I tested with OPKs daily since I did not know when or if I might ovulate. I checked back to my notes & there were several days where the LH was pretty bright & then noticeably was not as bright. Good luck at your IUI tomorrow! :goodluck:

So..... I STILL had a smiley face this morning!! Does this mean I will likely O tomorrow? I guess I have a long (or strong?) surge? Has anyone ever had this happen or know what it means?? Ill ask tomorrow, but this seems strange! I have n idea if I'm "usually" like this because I usually stop testing after one smiley!

@Jone0603: that's interesting! I think that's part of why our RE says it's not an exact science and that 2 days post smily is ok for an IUI. @lazypanda: that will be the plan for us too. :)

I always O on the 3rd day after getting a smiley face. We haven't ever done IUI, but I am sure you are feeling frustrated. I say just keep an eye on your temps and play it by ear.

@Mrs. Pinata: my RE instructed us to BD the night of our trigger, then we would go back 2 days later for IUI. Maybe if you BD tonight, you'll just give yourself additional opportunities to catch the surge now? :goodluck:

ETA: the night before the IUI we were supposed to not BD so that the sperm could "replenish" itself for the IUI the next morning & then we were told to BD that evening after having had the IUI.

@Mrs. Pinata: I never did an IUI so I don't know the protocol. Can you try tonight and tomorrow to cover your bases, then proceed with the IUI on Monday as well?

@Mrs. Pinata: :bummed: It's still possible to catch when your eggs release on Monday, but I always thought you want the guys in there a little before you O. You could BD tomorrow to be ahead of the game. :)

@Mrs. Jump Rope: to schedule the IUI or 24-36 hrs after surge. But technically I got 2 surges? The RE thinks an IUI on Monday after a Saturday surge is fine, an we'll probably still so it because of that, but it just stinks we can't get the timing just right!! :/

@Mrs. Pinata: Sorry, but your RE is closed on the weekends?!? I was always told to call that day if I got a positive OPK. My RE's office is open til 1p on the weekends. Can you call the office to see they give an urgent number to call?

I actually never got an OPK for my IUIs. My ultrasound always showed mature follicles and I always triggered.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I am, but it's an RE in an OB office and it's closed on the weekend. And he doesn't do ultrasound. But the office might, but DHs apt at clinic (different than our office) is right at 8am. Blah All around this has been the most annoying process.

@Mrs. Pinata: are you going through an RE? I was always told to call as soon as I got a positive surge go they could confirm with ultrasound and bloodwork, since that's the best way to confirm ovulation timing -- and the ultrasound will tell how many follicles you have, too.

DH and I are hoping to do an IUI first thing Monday morning. I usually O on CD12 or CD13 and Monday is CD13.
I got a smiley face both this morning and this evening. When do you think this means O would occur? If a smiley means O between 24 and 48 hours, I'm guessing this means I would O tomorrow night or Monday morning based on my 2 smileys more than 12 hours apart today?

The reason this matters so much is that we have an IUI scheduled on Monday and if I O tomorrow then the IUI won't be much help. :/ This is SO annoying because this happened 2 months ago and we cancelled the IUI, but then my temp didn't go up until Tuesday, so we wished we had done the IUI. My stupid cycle won't get off this goofy Sunday/Monday O deal. :/

Ugh.
