I find this time of year hardest, two weeks ago snow and last week in the 20’s!

This past winter I used a fleece sleep sack for DS. Then when it warmed up I switched to a cotton one. He’s outgrown all his sleep sacks and so I’ve switched to sleepers. Right now fleece and I have cotton ones for when it gets warmer.

SwaddleDesigns Cotton Muslin Sleeping Sack with 2-Way Zipper, Black Hedgehog with ... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MYBKG03/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_SwG3CbJMXJ4WP

We use this one currently. It’s colder at night and this has held up well. It’s super soft. We had A&A ones before and the zippers broke.

we like light cotton muslin ones for summer (such as A+A) and the babydeedee ones for fall/spring/winter.

In the mid Atlantic we use cotton or muslin sleeveless sacks during spring and summer and in the winter long sleeve fleece or flannel. I really wanted long sleeve sacks during the winter and wasn't willing to pay $30-$50 for them. I used etsy and then my mom decided to make me some so I could get bigger sizes.

FWIW here in AZ, this is what we do:
- Summer: 77 degrees (25C), cotton PJS, cotton sleepsack
- Winter: 70 degrees (21C), cotton or fleece PJs, fleece sleepsack.

Yep my babies like it warm and cozy :)

I had a mix of halo fleece and cotton and a few heavier ones (Ikea and another brand I don't remember).

If I had to do it again I'd muslin for the summer (Aiden and Anis or the target cheaper line) and the Ikea winter one. I liked how the Ikea one was a little stuffed like a comforter (to a reasonable level) and not just fleece. The other one I had snapped at the shoulders and my kid would kick his way out of it.

I wouldn't buy anything for the winter because you never know what he'll prefer. I'm in northern New York and we're doing really well in the Woombie Arms Up swaddle! They have one that you can unzip the arms so they can be free too. I used Halo sleepsacks up until 4 months for both my babies. They were a godsend. I firmly believe in swaddling tho admittedly my 2nd son does not sleep well 😫

I’m in Canada also. I buy grobags for my kids, but I just like them. I have a few second hand ones and a few new ones. I use 2.5 tog sleep sacks year round except for the summer months when I use 1.0 tog. Grobags are more expensive though. Halo is a great brand and very popular so the ones you posted are fine. Personally, I hate fleece anything except for sweaters for kids and would never put my kid in a fleece sack just because I would be afraid of them getting sweaty and overheating too easily. I don’t own any fleece sleepers between my two kids. I try and keep the house/ rooms at 19 ish. In the winter it creeps down to 18 and in the summer can creep up to 22/23.

I did recently buy a new slumber sac brand footed sleep sack that I quite like as well, At my local consignment store they often have quite a few sleep sacks though or check buy and sells if that’s an option for you and you’re open to used.

Honestly, as long as they aren’t fleece (personal preference) and they have a tog rating to guide you, then whatever you buy will be fine. It’s nice to be able to buy cheaper so you can have multiple for when they’re dirty from a blow out or puking incident.

I also have never swaddled because I couldn’t do it right. I used the swaddle sleep sack for a nap once and bought the swaddle up 50/50 for my second because night sleep was so bad, but I only used it 5 times. I just do armless sleep sacks from birth.

ETA: winners, home sense, and Marshall’s often have sleep sacks on the racks as well and they’ll be cheaper name brand ones often.

They ran a baby pool at work and as a result we have $60 to spend on our little guy. We currently have a convertible woombie sleep sack, we have never used the swaddle part - he likes to have his arms free. It's newborn size, and according to the size description is good until 13 lb and our little guy is almost 9 pounds now. I'd like to have some in larger sizes ready for when he outgrows this one.

I live in Canada, in the summer it can get as high as 30 degrees Celsius. Our room faces the Sun, so it can get warm in there. I am going to try hard to keep it around the 22/23 range.

However, being in Canada the winters are quite cold. It can get up to -40 degrees Celsius outside. And our room can get on the colder side since it's upstairs. Again though, I will do my best to keep it around the 22/23 range.

I'm thinking cotton for the summer for sure. These were two I were looking at. One has something for venting, not sure if that's handy to have? It's cheaper so I'm not sure if that means it's not as good?

http://m.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?prodFindSrc=cart&productId=83341816

http://m.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?prodFindSrc=cart&productId=117542406

I'm not sure if I should also buy one in fleece? For the winter?

Or maybe there is something better out there that I don't know about. I figured you guys would be the experts!
