There is a magnet that holds the two sides together when it is not too full and it works fairly well. I think there is a magnet on top that keeps it closed, but we always kept it so stuffed that it wasn't useable. </p> <p>The best part of the Duo for us is that we could run it through the wash. The worst part is that it really wasn't that roomy.
