I did that same stencil for my DS's nursery, nearly 4 years ago now! We've since moved and it pained me to let go of that room, I loved it so much! We didn't do a rug in his nursery so I have no advice but I would probably go neutral.

@raspberries: @Foodnerd81: @bubblegum: Thanks ladies for your input! I'm still torn, but do have a few ideas of what to look at. The paint color is BM revere pewter, so it's a greyish/brown, so it really could go either way. I'll take everything you said into consideration.

This is the stencil I bought: http://www.royaldesignstudio.com/products/endless-circles-lattice-moroccan-stencil

It took me about a week to do, but mainly because I could only do an hour at a time. After an hour, the stencil would be caked with paint and my body would be sore (31 weeks preggo). But, all in all, it was relaxing and really not that bad.

@Foodnerd81: Yes! It feels fine with bare feet - the one we got is hand-tufted, so it feels like actual carpet, not prickly like fake grass. It's not sink-your-toes-in soft, but it's super sturdy and works perfectly for his nursery.

@azjax: I was going to say light gray like the background on the wall too.

@NorthStar: I think either light gray or teal would look nice so I would benopen to either and see what I could find that would fit your other requirements. But more importantly, that wall is so gorgeous. I love it. How long did it take?

@raspberries: is your indoor outdoor rug soft enough to be comfy with bare feet? I'm leaning that way for our family room.

Don't do all white!!! We got a medium gray one with some thin white spiral designs from Ikea and it has been great. It is nice and thick (but not shaggy) and has done well in the face of a few spilled milk and vomit incidents. Price was good, too!

I would do a white rug but I generally shy away from bright colors in my home decor.

Your wall looks gorgeous!

We did the opposite in our nursery (neutral wall and patterned rug - mainly out of laziness, because I love the way patterned walls look) but I'd probably go with a teal/blue rug just so it would look good longer. Aesthetically, I love the look of a neutral rug, but it just doesn't seem practical. (Although, this is also coming from the person who decided to go with an indoor/outdoor rug so it would be easy to clean, so take that with a grain of salt. FYI, the rug still looks great and is being used for baby no. 2 in March, haha!)

I'm a sucker for the white/neutral/light grey color scheme.

White rugs are a no go for a kids room, I know, Ts needs to be replaced. She does not eat in her room but there are all kinds of stains on her cream run. She's not even 2. Don't do it.

I finally finished stenciling our accent wall in our nursery for baby #2 (team green) and need help finding a rug to use in the room.

For one, I'm torn on color of the rug. A neutral/white to tie into the remainder of the room (the changing table is white and the dresser is vintage and white, with a dark stained top).

Or, do I do a teal/bluish accent rug with no to minimal pattern (so that it doesn't compete with the wall) to tie in an accent color that I want to do throughout the room in decorations, fabric, etc.. The crib sheet, changing pad cover, etc are all the same fabric in a teal color.

I'm just not sure what to do, but have had a few friends tell me white. So, if that is the route I go, help me find one!

My requirements: Does not shed and is soft (but not super shaggy). I'm including a poll, but feel free to link different rugs you find, if you want. I'll try to post ones that I've seen later on (I'm about to go into a work meeting). I just need other opinions and DH is ZERO help!

Thanks!!

eta - added a pic - oops
