For us, it's something we are doing outside of a church, just a family ceremony on the beach.</p> <p>We're basically praying over our baby and dedicating her to God, telling God that we will raise our child knowing Him. </p> <p>I don't personally believe in baptizing infants because I think baptism is the decision to become a part of the church and follow God, and because an infant can't make that decision for themselves, baptism is better left until they can actually make that decision. </p> <p>So this is sort of just a ceremony to say "I will raise my child knowing You, and if she chooses to follow you when she is older, she can be baptized."</p> <p>I hope that makes sense.
