I want to get out of the lease and move. My city is super pro- landlord so I am a bit intimidated (half of all people here rent), but this apartment causes us a lot of stress. The manager is doing a poor job (not enforcing the Comm. Room for example, but another example is she made me sign something saying they installed/ would install/ I requested an install of child saftey locks on the windows- but they have not been installed and it is really dangerous). I have avoided this thread because the issue is so awful for me. I emailed the manager and basically she said all she will do is give a warning after the fact. The whole thing is infuriating. We booked a hotel for the 4th because she is throwing a party up there for the fireworks... right above us! They don't even start until 9! Sometimes they have 24hr services you can call. Depending if it is a condo or apartment they may also have a board of directors you can contact. I agree about documenting all of it (especially when you have to call the cops), but if it's not in your actual lease (hope it is!), not sure what recourse you'll have. Still, I can't see it being impossible to do anything about it. Even if it's not in your lease, if it's in the official policies you could theoretically take them to court over it. And they wouldn't want that, presumably, so the threat might be enough to get them to do something. You might see if they have another apartment available now or at some point soon that they'd be willing to let you switch to. It'd be a pain to move again, but it would probably be worth it. I was assured that the curfew for the room was 9pm.</p> <p>For the second weekend in a row people are partying above me past 9. Now past 10. </p> <p>We spoke to the manager after last time and she said she'd look into it. It hasn't been remedied apparently and it puts us in the worst position. DH went up there but nothing has quieted down. </p> <p>We already get so little sleep and this is stressing us all out. </p> <p>We wrote the manager but we aren't even able to speak to her until Monday. What would you do? Call the cops? </p>
