DS is 11 months and still hasn't taken to a lovey. I wish he would since he doesn't know how to self soothe. Sigh.

my child seems to have claimed one of those "little people" people as her lovey... it goes everywhere with us. She has Sophie and when she holds her it looks like she's holding a chicken wing bc of the hair

@Mamatang: @clover: Thanks, I didn't think to give it to her while feeding. I will try that!

Start giving it to her to hold when she takes her bottles or breastfeeds, thats how DS initially got attached. We didn't give it for sleeping until it already seemed to be associated with calm and relaxation for him.

I introduced a lovey to my LO when we started sleep training. What I did was to give the lovey to my LO each time I feed her. I also gave her the lovey for each sleeping time. After 3 days, lovey was exclusively inside her crib. It didn't seem like she liked it but I noticed everytime she can't fall asleep or wake up middle of the night she always reaches for her lovey!

DH wants to wean our 8.5 month old off her pacifier, especially at night. I'd like to try to get her to take a lovey first so she has an easier time of it. We have a couple small security blankets and one of those little toys that's basically a bunny head on a blanket (hehe), but she doesn't seem interested in them. I have tried sleeping with them to get my scent on them, but I admit that's pretty much all I've done so far.

What else can I do to get her to take a lovey? Do I need to try a new type, or should I work with what I have?
